When compared to the same period in 2022, sales of electric vehicles (EVs) in Australia increased by more than three times.
between January 1 and April 30, Australians took receipt of 23,926 pure EVs,
accounting for 6.8% of the global market. EV sales and share were 7618 units and 2.2%
at the same point in 2022, respectively.
Due in part to Toyota's continued supply issues,
EVs have also surpassed hybrids as Australia's preferred method of electrification (21,693 registrations YTD).
